I've messed around in both RPGmaker 2003/VXAce and in Clickteam Fusion. I got into the RPGmaker games when I was 15 and those really inspired me to want to make my own games when I realized there was a WHOLE engine dedicated to that.Ĥ. I also play Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and generic fantasy farming sims (Stardew/ Harvest Moon). Some of my faves are Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2. Storytelling is so important to me in games and they do it really well (albeit sometimes not consistently). I've been really good about putting out projects that reached the initial planned idea this year so!! I think I can do it!!ģ. I've attempted many times to do this jam (since the first one actually) because I want to complete it so badly. Yo yo yo I'm Everett but Ev is the easiest way to type that.Ģ. Just from projects that I thought would be simple and fast it quickly became apparent it was always much more work than I thought.ġ. I'm not a veteran but from the small things I've worked on I'll echo the above on keeping the scope small small small. As I gain more experience in the field I'd love to find partners to work on projects in the future!Ħ. Game development, I know I know obviously everyone who participating in a game jam is but this is the most rewarding kind of work I've done in my life so far. I'm most experience with Unity (2d) but have played a bit with Game Maker Studio and a tiny amount with PyGame.ĥ. I've worked on some small personal projects that I've been learning on but haven't finished anything. Many of these have inspired interest in game development in me but more than anything when a game has a cohesive internal universe it makes me wish I could create the same.Ĥ. My favorite games are a bit all over the place, a few are: Final Fantasy Tactics, Glitchhikers, Fallouts 1, 2, & New Vegas, Mirror's Edge, Undertale, The Walking Dead Season 1, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. However life events prevented me from completing either one of them before and so I really want to: complete a game jam, release a completed game (however tiny!) into the world, and work with some other awesome people.ģ. I didn't participate in the last game jams but I have been to a couple of games jams previously. Hey everybody I'm Landonscribbles (Landon is also juts fine).Ģ. Bellerophon's Design doc was several pages, and we didn't end up making 80% of the ideas on it.ġ. With that in mind, think small, and expect even that to be too big. The planning doc we had for Bellerophon was invaluable in helping me and my partner know which way to progress. I'd say the biggest piece of advice I have is to make sure you have a rough plan of the things you want to make during the jam.I've also created dozens of unreleased prototypes. I worked on a game called Bellerophon for the last jam.I adore games like Undertale, Nuclear Throne, OneShot, and Hyper Light Drifter just as much as I adore games like Dark Souls and Splatoon. I have a massive variety of favorite games, but I have a particular soft spot for Indie games with good pixel art.Hopefully this time I can plan out my time a bit better, and not spend the last day scrambling to make levels. funny enough, this is my third time participating in this jam (and hopefully my second time finishing).Hey there, I'm Arachnibot! I make things and am bad at writing about myself.
